A few things I have learned........

I was thinking about how fast time has flown and I decided to make a list of a few of the things I have learned in the last 4.5 months. I don't have any pictures to post, I am just rambling! So here is my list:

1. The body CAN keep going without sleep and it won't shut down, no matter how many times you think it is happening!

2. No matter how tired you are, the sight of your baby can make you smile.........even at 3am!

3. Sweat pants, old t-shirts, and a ponytail.........the perfect look for a new mom. Babies seem to LOVE it because that is all they will let you wear!

4. Shaving your legs is now a luxury instead of a task!

5. Your heart will actually flutter when you kiss your baby!

6. You lose all sense of pride when you have a baby. You will talk the dumbest baby talk and say the craziest things and it doesn't matter where you are or who can hear you!

7. You learn that ears are CUTE.............and butts, and toes, and every other body part that you thought was nasty before

8. Everyone who has EVER had a baby is an expert. And everything you do is wrong! Ha! This includes people in Target that see you in the baby aisle and corner you to tell you what you should feed, when, and how often. I mean really people? Advice is great and I do appreciate it. But until you can say that you gave birth to Hollan Adair Herring on January 7th, 2010.........please keep your opinions to yourself until I, or her daddy, ask for them. Did I have an experience in Target? Yes, I did. Okay, enough about that. I will get all fired up again and put myslef in a bad mood! Ha!!!!!!!! So, SHUT UP lady in Target!! Now I feel better!

9. You look at your husband in amazement becasue the little person you see in the bouncy seat is sooooo much like him already it is crazy! I love it!!

10. You can't wait for them to take a long nap so you can get things done. And then you wait for them to wake up because you can't stand it anymore! Get up and play with me please!!!!!!!!

Okay, enough for today. I will think of more later! 3 more days of school and Hollan and I are off to meet the newest addition of our family, Miss Emily Caroline! Can't wait!!!!!!!!!

A day with the family

So yesterday we decided to make the trip to Eufaula to take Reese home a family affair! Normally Hollan and I stay home so that I can get everything ready for the week and just relax. But, with Phillip's work schedule lately, it feels like Hollan and I haven't gotten to see him much so we made the trip too. And we got to spend a little extra time with Reese. I posted a few pictures of her/us at her Gammie's house in Eufaula. The one with me in it is literally the only one I have of us together. How does that happen with as crazy as I am with a camera? Anyway, it's not the best picture but I posted it anyway! The second picture is my absolute favorite.........look at that face!!!!! The last one is of her in the jeep that Alex (her cousin) got in once or twice. It is so funny because on my side of the family we have all girls and on Phillips side it is all boys, except for Ana, who is 13. So Hollan gets to play in all of the boy stuff and I LOVE it! She was amazed by the bright colors. The walker had a steerring wheel that clicked when you turned it and my sweet, SMART, baby would put her hands at the 10 and 2 and turn it. She amazes me!!

4 Months Old!!!!!

My sweet baby is getting so big! I can't believe it has been 4 months since we brought her home. It literally seems like yesterday. But in all honesty, I am soooo glad it's not 4 months ago!!!! Life was ROUGH. but we are finally getting the hang of it now. So, happy 4 month birthday sweet Hollan Adair!

Okay, for those of you who don't really know Phillip. From the day we found out we were having a girl, he has been terrified. He just doesn't know girls. One of his biggest worries has been about having to put "girl toys" together. I didn't know there was such a difference, but I guess there is. This has been a true worry of his. So, after Hollan decided she wanted to be big and slide out of her bouncy seat, I had to bring out the big guns and get the jumparoo that Summer got her out of her closet. I thought about trying to put it together myself, but I HATE reading directions and I could only get so far by looking at the box and sticking pieces together. So, Hollan and I strategically laid all of the parts out in the dining room and then looked very sad when Phillip got home. Naturally he felt sorry for her/us and got busy! I posted a few pictures of her watching him put it together. She watched EVERY move he made! When we put her in it she honestly looked amazed. She is the CUTEST thing EVER!!! Sorry for the order of the pictures being messed up!

This and That.......

So, my sweet baby is 4 months old today. I can't believe it! She is getting bigger and funnier every day. We got her jumparoo out last night and I am going to attempt to put it together this afternoon while Phillip is at work. Why? Becasue yesterday while I was on the phone complaining about how exhausted I was from Field Day, I look and the only thing left in her bouncy seat was her head. She was "getting CRAZY" as Bop Bop would say. So today is the day. I am kind of sad becasue I thought she was big when I put her in the bouncer for the first time. Now it's a jumparoo. I guess next it will be a car! I would say it will be a 4-wheeler but my family has already made me PROMISE that I won't let her get on one. Thanks Paige!

I posted a few pictures from last week. A few are from Heather and Summer's. Calvin (Heather's baby) is not sure how he feels about Hollan but he does love to sit in her bouncy seat when we go over there. If you notice and think it is weird that this bouncy seat has Humpty Dumpty on it, just know that we are NOT having gender issues! It was Reese's when he was a baby and Phillip's mom let us use it at Daycare. Hollan loves it! The picture of Summer, Cal, and Hollan is too funny because if Summer, aka "dodo".......as in dodo bird.......even thinks about holding Hollan, then she has to hold him too! The flower head band didn't make it long, but it sure was cute while it lasted. Phillip just shakes his head!!!!

Speaking of Reese............check out the picture of him in his uniform! So handsome!!!! He is 8 going on 18. He plays travel ball for Eufaula. And by travel ball, I mean they/we travel a LOT. But, he loves the game and he loves being with his friends so it is worth it. I made him pose for this picture in front of our house before we left for the game becasue apparently it is NOT acceptable to take pictures at the game. And it is basically against the law to try to go to the dug-out to take one. Who knew?? I will accept this for now but I have warned everyone that when Hollan starts playing, people will need sunglasses to guard their eyes against all of the camera flashes!
